Shirley (Horton) Reed

Shirley Jean (Crawford) Reed was April 30, 1956 to the Albert Crawford and Lemoa Vann  in Water Valley, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Harris Chapel AME Zion Church where she actively engaged in the choir and loved singing and going to church.

Shirley worked at Valley Fresh for 10 years and Borgwarner for 41 years until she retired. Shirley also love talking on the phone to her sister's and brother's family and friends. She loved to travel until her health started to decline. She was a kind hearted person and would help anyone she could. She will truly be missed. She was married to the late Kenny Reed. She departed this life on February 12, 2026 at the University Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada, Mississippi.

Shirley  leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Albert  (Markiela) Horton, Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Janette Hervey, Detroit, MI; Isabelle (Frank) Morgan, Molina, FL;  two brothers, Robert Crawford, Charleston, MS; Tommy Crawford, Joliet, IL; one grandchild and two step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special friends, Christine Woodard, Daisy Walton and Annie Pearl Houston.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Reed; her daughter, Lasheller Horton; three sisters, Elizabeth Benson, Mary L Rucker and Martha Flemmings; six brothers,  John Crawford, Leo Crawford, Jessie Crawford, Jessie Lee Crawford, Charles Crawford and Frank Crawford.
